Lift operator electrocuted

A lift operator died after he was electrocuted June 16, 2022, while doing tree work at a home in Fridley, Minnesota.

Johnny Lee Coleman Cotton, of Minneapolis, was working with a private company removing a tree when his chain saw or the branch he was cutting struck a power line.

After the lift was lowered, lifesaving measures were provided, but he was ultimately pronounced dead at the scene, according to a KARE11 Minneapolis report.

Tree worker killed

A climber and foreman for a line-clearance company was killed on the job on June 2, 2020, in Maryland. The victim was Donald E. “DJ” Walker, Jr., 26, of Lonaconing, Maryland. No details related to the incident were provided in Walker’s obituary in The Cumberland Times-News, and no other published report was found on the incident.
