A climber and two firefighters were injured in a bee attack May 17, 2025, in Morgan’s Point Resort, Texas. The climber was suspended in a tree wearing a safety harness and was covered in bees. Two fire specialists were attempting to rescue the worker when they also were attacked by the bees. A bystander was able to remove the victim from the tree. The three victims were transported to the hospital for treatment. The bees were originally identified as Africanized bees, but further investigation indicated they were likely European honeybees, according to a kcentv.com report.
