A pilot was seriously injured when his tree-trimming helicopter crashed March 18, 2024, in Belleville, West Virginia. The helicopter, operated by Signature Utility Services, was trimming around power lines for FirstEnergy when it crashed. The company was using a saw attached to the helicopter by a cable that hangs below the aircraft to cut limbs away from utility lines. The pilot was flown to a local medical center with serious injuries. The cause of the crash was not immediately known, according to a Marietta Times report.
