A worker was killed and another injured when the ladder they were working on came in contact with electrical wires June 30, 2024, in Charleston, South Carolina. Emma Lopez-Garcia, 31, of North Charleston, was killed when she was trimming trees from a 6- to 9-foot ladder and it came in contact with the power line. Another worker was holding the bottom of the ladder and was injured, according to a The Post and Courier report.
