Teenager killed in woodchipper accident

A teenager working for a tree service died after being injured while working with a woodchipper August 9, 2022, in North Whitehall Township, Lehigh County, Pennsylvania.

A homeowner told Action News he hired a tree company to take down 10 trees.

Isiah Bedocs , 17, of Coplay Borough, Pa., died after part of the teen’s clothing apparently got caught in the machinery while he was working, according to state troopers.

Troopers and EMS personnel provided medical assistance. The victim was then transported by helicopter to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest, where he died of his injuries a short time later, according to a WPVI-TV 6ABC Action News report.

Tree worker killed

A climber and foreman for a line-clearance company was killed on the job on June 2, 2020, in Maryland. The victim was Donald E. “DJ” Walker, Jr., 26, of Lonaconing, Maryland. No details related to the incident were provided in Walker’s obituary in The Cumberland Times-News, and no other published report was found on the incident.
