One killed, one injured in crash

A contract worker for Pacific Gas and Electric Co. was killed and another was seriously injured in a crash involving their utility service truck January 7, 2023, in Elk Grove, California. The driver, Edgar Castillo, 37, of Elk Grove, Calif., was pronounced dead at the scene.
The work vehicle went off the road and rolled over. The cause of the crash was not known, although wet roads from recent storms may have been a factor, according to a report in The Press Democrat. Castillo and his passenger were both employed by Mountain F. Enterprises, and were contracted by PG&E to assist with storm cleanup, according to the report.
