Climber trapped and killed by palm fronds

A tree worker was killed when he was trapped under palm fronds April 27, 2024, in Riverside, California. The worker, who had been contracted by a homeowner, was 30 feet up when a skirt of palm fronds fell on top of him, trapping him while still aloft in the tree. A fire-department technical rescue team brought the man down to the ground, but he was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a mynewsLA.com report.
