Lift operator killed in probable struck-by

A man was killed while attempting to cut down a large tree April 27, 2024, in Plaistow, New Hampshire. Police received a call about an unresponsive man in an elevated lift. Multiple crews, including an employee with the boom-lift rental company, worked to lower the basket to assess the injured man, who was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities noted parts of the boom lift were damaged, possibly by a fallen tree or tree part, according to a WMUR report.
