Lift operator hurt one-handing his saw

An aerial-lift operator trimming palms was injured April 18, 2022, in Southern California, when his chain saw kicked back, cutting his left forearm.

The man, 30, was able to descend on his own to the ground, where co-workers applied a tourniquet and a bandage to the laceration and drove the victim to the hospital. Examination revealed that he had nicked a tendon, and he had to be hospitalized and undergo surgery.

Circumstances of the incident suggest the victim did not have two hands on the saw, according to a source who wished to remain anonymous.
