One person was killed and two others were injured while cleaning up a fallen tree August 30, 2023, in Lowndes County, Georgia. While one person was clearing a tree that had fallen in Hurricane Idalia, a second tree fell. It killed one person and seriously injured another. A sheriff’s deputy also was injured and taken to the hospital with a slight brain bleed, according to a CHNI News Service report.
