Homeowner killed in struck-by

A homeowner in Englewood, New Jersey, died March 27, 2021, when he was knocked off his ladder by a limb while trimming a tree.

The man, 52, was more than 10 feet off the ground on the ladder using a gasoline-powered chain saw when the limb fell, knocking him to the ground.

The man was in cardiac arrest and bleeding heavily when police arrived, and his legs were pinned under the cut limb. Firefighters used air bags to free the homeowner, who suffered a severely damaged right leg and chest trauma, among other injuries.

EMS took him to Hackensack University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, according to a
dailyvoice.com report.

Tree worker killed

A climber and foreman for a line-clearance company was killed on the job on June 2, 2020, in Maryland. The victim was Donald E. “DJ” Walker, Jr., 26, of Lonaconing, Maryland.
