Disaster-relief volunteer killed in struck-by

A volunteer working for Illinois Disaster Relief was struck and killed by a tree he was cutting May 9, 2023, in Streater, Illinois.
Wayne Laechelt, 67, of Sugar Grove, Ill., was an Illinois Baptist Relief volunteer working at a Baptist camp when the accident occurred. He was initially treated at the scene by emergency personnel, according to an Illinois Baptist State Association News Journal report.
