Lift operator cuts throat with saw

A tree worker was seriously injured when the chain saw he was using kicked back and cut him in the throat June 5, 2023, in Mt. Zion, Illinois. Jason Eckenrod, 53, of Mt. Zion, was in a boom truck cutting trees when the incident occurred. The chain saw cut through the exterior and interior jugular, barely missing the carotid artery, according to a WICS News Channel 20 report.
